
The number of women who have committed crimes related to the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in Azerbaijan has increased almost 7 times over the past 7 years.
Yeniavaz.com repors with reference to the latest official data, if in 2017 the number of women who committed crimes related to the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances was 36, then in 2023 this figure increased to 240.
For your information, the number of women who committed crimes in 2023 was 1,299 people. This is the highest figure recorded since 2012. Since 2012, there has been a decrease in the number of women who committed crimes, and in 2020 their number fell to the lowest level in the past 30 years - 869 people.
However, since 2021, there has been an increase in the number of women committing crimes again. Thus, the number of women who committed crimes increased to 1,168 in 2021, to 1,227 in 2022, and to 1,299 in 2023.
One of the sharpest jumps was recorded in the number of women who committed fraud. If in 2020 there were 98 women fraudsters in Azerbaijan, then in 2021 their number increased to 159, in 2022 to 185, and in 2023 to 227.
Over the past 4 years, the number of women who committed robberies increased from 5 to 9, the number of women who committed robberies from 2 to 3, and the number of women who committed hooliganism from 34 to 40.
