During the first nine months of this year, 48 thousand 234.1 tons of potatoes were exported from Azerbaijan to foreign countries, and 84 thousand 302.8 tons of potatoes were imported from foreign countries.
The calculation of Yeniavaz.com with reference to published official data shows that the average customs value of 1 kilogram of potatoes sold abroad is 71.4 kopecks (42 cents), while the price of imported potatoes is cheaper.
Thus, during the first nine months of this year, the average customs value of 1 kilogram of imported potatoes was 45 kopecks (26.6 cents).
It should be noted that the overwhelming majority of exported potatoes - 88% - are sold to Russia. More than half of imported potatoes - 55% - are purchased in Iran. If the average customs value of 1 kilogram of potatoes sold to Russia was 73.3 kopecks (43 cents), then the average customs value of 1 kilogram of potatoes purchased in Iran was 44 kopecks (26 cents).
For information, the average selling price of imported potatoes in the markets was 90 kopecks, and the average selling price of local potatoes was 95 kopecks.
