In January-April this year, food products worth 748 million 212.5 thousand manats were imported to Azerbaijan from foreign countries.
Yeniavaz.com reports citing published official data, the cost of imported food increased by $44,300 compared to the same period last year.
In the first 4 months of the year, wheat was the most imported.
Thus, in January-April of this year, 409,000 tons of wheat worth $124 million were imported to Azerbaijan from abroad.
As a result, the customs value of 1 kilogram of imported wheat amounted to 30 cents (52 kopecks). It should be noted that the price of imported wheat in the same period last year was higher - the customs value of 1 kilogram was 58 kopecks.
An increase was also recorded for other staple foods.
