Rice is imported to Azerbaijan for $27 - Full list by country

It was reported that according to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, rice imported from Pakistan to Azerbaijan will be exempted from a 15% customs duty.
Yeniavaz.com reports, that the share of rice imported from Pakistan to Azerbaijan is small compared to other countries.
For the first 9 months of this year, 43,000 tons of rice were imported to Azerbaijan from abroad. Pakistan accounted for 936 tons or 2.2% of imported rice.
India has made the largest contribution. 74% of all rice imports or 31.7 thousand tons were imported from India.

As can be seen from the published data, the customs value of 1 kilogram of rice imported from Pakistan was 71 cents (1.2 manats), and the customs value of 1 kilogram of rice imported from India was 92 cents (1.56 manats). Pakistani rice entered the country 30% cheaper than Indian rice. After removing the customs duty of 15%, the difference in price will be greater.
For information, we note that the annual demand for rice in Azerbaijan is more than 60,000 tons, and only 17-18% is provided by local production.
It should also be noted that more than 80% of rice imported to Azerbaijan is produced by 9 companies - "Veysəloğlu" LLC, "Tamashaee Foods" LLC, "QİDA XXI" LLC, "Best-Tarım" LLC, "Babək" firması - (Babek), " Xudafərin-1" LLC, "Elsaan Group LLC", "AL market" LLC and "Sun Food" LLC.
